Reinventing your empty Balcony Space!

Balconies hold an enormous amount of memories. Whether it be having a cup of tea early in the morning, or having some of your “me time” in the evening, these balconies play an equally important role as the rest of your house. This makes it important for us to have a beautifully designed balcony where you can sit back and relax at any time of the day. Here are a few things you can keep in mind while redesigning your balcony.

1. Clad it up!

Balconies are one of the easy to spot areas of any house or apartment. Cladding up the walls with materials such as stone, PVC panels, wood or tiles can help you make your balcony wall design stand out. If you are not a fan of cladding then you can opt for textured paint as well. Texture paints are usually cheaper than cladding and it lasts long as well.

2. Create your own relaxing corner!

To create your own relaxing corner all you need to do is put up some good furniture. Furniture plays a vital role in making your bacony a comfortable space. This is the place where you park yourself while having a cup of coffee. It is not necessary to have a conventional round coffee table and chairs. You can try having a simple 2-seater sofa with a rectangular coffee table or you can try having a settee with inbuilt storage. Furniture can also vary with the amount of space available. If you have a small balcony you can have wrought iron chairs along with a coffee table because in this way you can have seating without covering up your space.

3. All about lighting

Lights play an important role in enhancing your moods. If you want to sit and enjoy the silence of the night or want to have a romantic dinner with your loved one, lights sure will prep you up for this. You can have pendant lights hanging through your ceiling, bracket lights placed on either side of the balcony door or a simple downlighter on the wall. But if you don’t want to spend much on lighting then you can opt for fairy lights. These lights will not only give you the perfect ambience but will also be easy on your pocket.

4. Accessories

Here comes the most fun part! You can accessorize your balcony as much as you want. It depends on your taste and the kind of vibe that you are looking for. You can throw in some cushions on the sofa, hang some wind chimes to soothe your ears or you can even deck-up your walls with some picture frames.

5. Add a touch of green

Balconies ought to be all green. But it also depends upon your taste. If you don’t have a green thumb then you can try having some railing planters or small pots and place it either on the parapet or on the floor. But if you are fond of plants then you have a lot of room to put up various plants throughout the balcony. You can even plan out a small balcony garden with the use of FRP planters.
